Unreal Tournament 99 Maps
I’m gonna game dev like it’s 1999
Below is a list of maps a map (there are more to come) I’ve created for the original Unreal Tournament.
If you’ve never played the game before, head over to OldUnreal for a copy of the installer (courtesy of Epic Games) and patches/guides for getting it working on modern computers. Smeer Kat’s tutorial series and the UT99.org forums are both excellent resources if you’re interested in creating UT99 maps of your own.
Abraxas
Enter the demiurge’s concrete temple, an unreal space lost between worlds and outside of time.
A medium-sized deathmatch map with a low-poly neoclassical/brutalist theme. My first attempt at a UT99 map, built over the course of three months. The name and aesthetic were inspired by the architecture of Ricardo Bofill, especially “Les Espaces d’Abraxas” and “La Fábrica.” The gameplay was intended to replicate the vanilla UT99 feel as closely as possible. There are two secret pickups hidden in the map, one of which should be more obvious than the other.
